Dr. Nidal Kamel


Nidal Kamel received the PhD degree (Hons) from the Technical University of Gdansk, Poland, in 1993.

Since 1993 he has been involved in research projects related to estimation theory, noise reduction, optimal filtering, and pattern recognition.

He developed SNR estimation for antenna diversity combining, single-trial subspace-based technique for ERP extraction from brain background noise, time-constraints optimization technique for speckle noise reduction in SAR images, and introduced data glove for online signature verification.

His present research interest is mainly in EEG signal processing for localization of brain sources, assessment of cognitive and visual distraction, Neurofeedback, learning and memory recall, in addition to fMRI- EEG data fusion.

He is the editor of EEG/ERP Analysis: Methods and Applications, CRC Press, NY, 2015.

Currently, he is Associate Professor at the PETRONAS University of Technology.

He is IEEE senior member.

Dr. Aamir Saeed Malik


Aamir Saeed Malik has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, M.S in Nuclear Engineering from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, another M.S in Information & Communication and Ph.D in Information & Mechatronics from Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology, Gwangju, South Korea.

He has more than 15 years of research experience and has worked for IBM, Hamdard University, Government of Pakistan, Yeungnam University and Hanyang University in Korea.

He is currently working as Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia.

He is fellow of IET and senior member of IEEE.

He is board member of Asia Pacific Neurofeedback Association (APNA) and member of Malaysia Society of Neuroscience (MSN).

His research interests include neuro-signal & neuro-image processing and neuroscience big data analytics.

He is author of 3 books and have more than 100 international journal and conference papers with more than 1000 citations and cumulative impact factor of more than 200.

Dr Syed Saad Azhar Ali


Dr Ali obtained his BE from NED University in Electrical Engineering. He secured his Masters and PhD from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in the area of Nonlinear Control. He has been associated with Air University and Iqra University prior to being engaged with the Center of Intelligent Signal & Imaging Research at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. His research focus has been on Intelligent Control, Signal Processing. He developed interest in neurofeedback training and recently he is working on content optimization for neurofeedback. He is the author of over 60 peer-reviewed publications including 4 books/chapters. Dr. Ali is an IEEE Senior Member. He is the PI for several Funded Research Projects.

Ibrahima Faye is currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Seri Iskandar, Malaysia. He is associated with the Department of Fundamental and Applied Sciences and the Centre for Intelligent Signal and Imaging Research. He received a BSc, MSc and PhD in Mathematics from University of Toulouse and a MS in Engineering of Medical and Bio-technological data from Ecole Centrale Paris. Mr Joachim Lee


Joachim Lee is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Supervisor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). He is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Strategic Psychotherapist, with over 20 years of clinical experience. He is a certified neurofeedback therapist (SBCIA). He holds a Master in Counselling and is a qualified Solution-Oriented Therapist and Trainer.

Tim is a psychologist and Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner. Tim is also certified at the Diplomate level by the International QEEG Certification Board.  Tim has extensive therapeutic experience, working in private practice for more than 25 years. For the past 17 years this has included a special interest in neurotherapy.  

Tim has been an active member of the neurofeedback community in Australia for many years. He is an elected Fellow of the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia and was a past president of this organization. Tim was instrumental in the establishment of certification standards for neurofeedback therapy in Australia and was the Inaugural Chair of Biofeedback Certification International Alliance- Australia.  

Tim is experienced in a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, EMDR and hypnotherapy. While in private practice he has worked with clients suffering from a range of disorders including ADHD, depression, anxiety, traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress.  

Tim has also had a long interest in the assessment and treatment of people with learning disorders and attentional difficulties as well as those with developmental disabilities such as autism.  

Prior to working in private practice Tim worked as a lecturer in psychology and human development at the University of South Australia for 15 years. He completed his bachelors’ degree at the University of Adelaide and his PhD from the University of Illinois.

Dr. K. Jayasankara Reddy

Dr. K Jayasankara Reddy completed his post graduate programme in Clinical Neurophysiology from the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neuro Sciences, Sri Vekateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupathi, India. He later on completed his M.Sc in Psychology and PhD in the area of Neuropsychology from the same university.


He is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, Christ University Bangalore, India. Having over 17 years of experience in academia, research and practice, he has been the research guide for several PhD and M.Phil scholars who have undertaken research in the areas of neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience and health psychology. He has published over 40 research articles in various national and international journals as well presented research papers in conferences. He has been the recipient of the best research paper award for three times in the area of neuropsychology.


He serves as a chairman and member of academic council, board of studies, board of advisory committe and board of examination for different P.G/M.Phil and PhD programmes in various universities and autonomous colleges.  


He has been instrumental in setting up the Cognitive Neuro Lab and the Cognitive Neuroscience Study Group at Christ University and is currently undertaking a major research project that employs Biofeedback Training to reduce academic stress in students. As a researcher his work focuses on neurobiological and electrophysiological basis of cognition and emotion. In addition, he enjoys working with students, research scholars, and fellows.

Danish is currently a Research Scholar at Center for Intelligent Signal and Imaging Research (CISIR), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia pursuing his PhD on prediction of epileptic seizure through effective connectivity using EEG. He is also a faculty member in Department of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan since March 2010. He received his Bachelor and Master in engineering degrees in Telecommunications from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, in 2009 and 2012 respectively. His research interests include signal processing, EEG, seizure prediction and image processing.

Mr Ahmad Rauf Subhani


Ahmad Rauf Subhani received the BE degree in  electrical engineering from Air University, Islamabad, Pakistan in 2009 and the MS degree from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in 2013. He is currently pursuing the PhD degree in electrical engineering from UTP.

From 2010 to 2011, he was a Research Assistant with the Center for Advanced Studies in Telecommunication (CAST).  His research interests include biomedical signal processing, machine learning for rehabilitation.
